The Coaches Poll released ahead of Week 4 by USA TODAY saw nine SEC teams make it into the top 25, which is one more team from the conference than last week’s edition.
Those teams included Georgia (1), Texas (2), Alabama (4), Ole Miss (5), Tennessee (7), Missouri (8), Oklahoma (13), LSU (16) and Texas A&M (24). Some called for Texas to move to No. 1 after the dominance it displayed in the 56-7 win over UTSA with quarterback Arch Manning surpassing the expectations in place of an injured Quinn Ewers, while Georgia just squeaked by to avoid an upset vs. Kentucky, 13-12 in Lexington.
Tennessee moved up two places, and LSU jumped a spot as well.
Texas A&M also made an appearance after previously being out of the rankings, gaining 68 votes last week.
