Following sophomore Preston Williams’ decision to leave the Tennessee football program, speculation has arose as to whether Butch Jones’ decision to bring freshmen Brandon Johnson and Marquez Callaway to Wednesday’s episode of Vol Calls was more than just a coincidence.
The decision to take freshmen wideouts Brandon Johnson and Marquez Callaway to tonight's Vol Calls looks even more interesting now.

Jones also mentioned freshman Tyler Byrd’s transition to wide receiver. Byrd was a four-star cornerback prospect who has since played considerable time at wide receiver, perhaps at the expense of Williams, who was a four-star at his natural position.
“Not one time have they been down about not playing,” Jones said. “We’ve had to change the culture in the receiver room, and these two players along with (freshmen) Tyler Byrd helped change the culture.”
Williams has played in three games and made two starts this season and caught nine passes for 89 yards. During his career, he caught 16 catches for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
