Cole Adams left Alabama’s Week 9 contest against Missouri due to an apparent leg injury that he sustained during the first quarter.

According to reporters on the scene in Tuscaloosa, Adams was carted to the locker room with a boot on his left leg and a towel draped over his head:

Adams is a redshirt freshman receiver out of Owasso, Oklahoma. He’s not a significant player for the Crimson Tide on offense at this stage in his career, but he does make an impact on special teams. He’s Alabama’s primary punt returner and has also returned 1 kickoff so far in 2024.

With Adams sidelined, it was Jaylen Mbakwe who ran out as Alabama’s punt returner in his place. Mbakwe is a true freshman defensive back who has had an early impact on special teams during his first couple months in Tuscaloosa.

Offensively, Adams has caught 6 passes for 94 yards so far this season. Most recently, he caught 2 passes for 57 yards in Alabama’s win over South Carolina earlier this month.

Alabama is 5-2 all-time against Missouri.
