Colin Cowherd: Cam Ward at No. 1 is the ‘easiest’ pick of the 2025 NFL Draft

Colin Cowherd has a proclamation about the NFL Draft exactly 1 week before all eyes will descend on Green Bay for the NFL’s annual 3-day celebration of its future.
The longtime sports analyst said on his show, The Herd, on Thursday afternoon that there should be no doubt about who should be taken with the first pick of the draft next Thursday night. Cowherd believes it should be former Miami quarterback Cam Ward, case closed, calling on the Tennessee Titans to take the dual-threat QB and calling it the “easiest” pick of the entire draft.
Those are big words, but Cowherd believes that Ward is that big-time of a talent after throwing for a whopping 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns last season for the Hurricanes. Ward added 204 yards rushing and 4 rushing TDs, and he had Miami in the College Football Playoff discussion for most of the season.
Now, he’s taking his flashy game to the NFL, and Cowherd fully believes that Ward should be the first name to come off the board in Green Bay.
“I’m not predicting what the teams are going to do. I’m telling you, if I’m GM, this is what I would do. The truth is, it’s not a great draft. I don’t think there’s going to be a ton of trades. There are about 8 really good players, and all those players will go to the teams who need them. Number 1 is Tennessee, you got to get Cam Ward and it’s an easy one. (The AFC South) is a winnable division, he fits the offense, they have 1 go-to receiver. I think he’ll win games, I think he’ll make them a playoff team,” said Cowherd.
In exactly 1 week, we’ll all find out if the Titans listened to Cowherd or went in another direction. The NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 24.
