Colin Cowherd rips Johnny Manziel while comparing Zach Wilson to the former Texas A&M Heisman winner
It is no secret that FOX Sports broadcaster Colin Cowherd loves hot takes and hot comparisons.
Today on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” he made a comparison of New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson to former Texas A&M Aggies quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. On his show, Cowherd said:
“Zach Wilson reminds me a little too much of Johnny Manziel. Small, cocky and comes from wealth.”

Manziel was the first-ever freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in the 2012 college football season. He would go on to be a first-round pick for the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft. In the NFL, Manziel would only play in two seasons (14 games) before he was released by the Browns for off-the-field issues.
Can Wilson have a better NFL career than Manziel? The Jets will certainly be counting on their young rookie in 2021 and beyond!
