College basketball player inexplicably throws shoe in attempt to slow Kentucky’s offense
Jackson State forward Dylan Canoville made an interesting choice when playing against Kentucky in the first half on Friday night.
Canoville made a good play to corral an offensive rebound and score around Brandon Garrison at the 10:42 mark of the first half. In the process, however, Canoville lost his right shoe.
After failing to get officials to stop play due to the lost sneaker, Canoville ran down the court with his shoe-in-hand, but was trailing the play as Kentucky neared the hoop.
In an apparent last-resort, Canoville chucked his wayward shoe at Garrison as he dunked the ball to give Kentucky a 14-point lead. Here’s a replay of the incident:

Garrison had a similar reaction to everyone who saw the toss — pure bewilderment. Surprisingly, there was no foul called on the play for the incident.
Kentucky is cruising to another nonconference victory on Friday night against Jackson State. A win would bring the Wildcats to a 5-0 start on the season.
Kentucky will be in action again on Tuesday night against Western Kentucky.
