College football bowl projections: CBS Sports predicts 11 SEC teams reach postseason

Bowl Season is months away, but the experts update their projections after every week of results throughout the regular season.

CBS Sports expert Jerry Palm has updated his bowl projections after Week 8 of the 2022 season. Palm currently has 11 SEC teams going bowling in his updated predictions. Palm has Auburn, Mizzou and Vanderbilt on the outside looking in heading into Week 9.

Palm has 2 SEC teams making the College Football Playoff field of 4 and facing off in the Peach Bowl. The Sugar Bowl is not a CFP semifinal this year. With the game’s SEC tie-in, a third conference squad will make a New Year’s Six bowl if 2 teams are in the CFP.
