College football game delayed due to protestors rushing the field

Action between Iowa and Northwestern was paused for a few minutes on Saturday as protesters entered the field of play.
During the first half in Evanston, several students came on the field in protest of the Northwestern University police department. Another sign demanded a meeting with the university’s board of trustees:

At one point, a Hawkeyes fan entered the field himself and tried to tear the banners, as you can see below:

On the field, there hasn’t been much offense to speak of as both the Hawkeyes and Wildcats have found themselves unable to get much going. Iowa currently leads Northwestern 17-6 with 8 minutes left to play in the 4th quarter. It was only a 14-3 Hawkeyes lead at halftime.
