If you’re on a college football field, you might get hurt – even if you’re not suiting up to play.

Saturday’s Wisconsin-Rutgers game featured an unfortunate injury for a sideline photographer. Down in the red zone, Rutgers QB Gavin Wimsatt’s pass went out of bounds, bounced off the ground and hit a photographer below the belt for a painful injury. The photographer grabbed his knee, but the ball hit elsewhere.

One could call it Rutgers football in a nutshell. The Scarlet Knights fell to Wisconsin 24-13 in Madison on Saturday.

The above incompletion was 1 of 19 for Wimsatt. The Rutgers starting QB finished 16-of-35 passing for 181 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The interception was especially costly, as it was a 95-yard pick-6 to extend the Badgers’ lead to 17-0 at halftime. Wimsatt was the Scarlet Knight’s leading rusher, logging 9 rushes for 43 yards.

Rutgers QB Evan Simon also logged playing time. He was 2-of-3 passing for 30 yards and 1 touchdown.

Hopefully, the photographer is feeling better!
