This Saturday saw all kinds of rivalry games, with some incredible endings and battles. Virginia Tech and Virginia played in their annual rivalry game, and the Hokies dominated this game, 55-17.
Leading the way for the Hokies was running back Byashul Tuten, who finished with 16 carries, 117 yards and 1 touchdown. Not only was he a force running the ball, he took back a kick-off 94 yards for a touchdown.
As any team would do after a rivalry game, the Hokies celebrated and came back on the field to take a picture. Once they did that, the sprinkler system just happened to go on Virginia’s field.
Rivalries are amazing!

The win was a big one for the Hokies, as they became bowl eligible with the win. Even though it is called a rivalry, it really hasn’t been much of one recently. After the win on Saturday, the Hokies have now won 18 of the last 19 games.
This was the first game in 2 years, as last season’s game was cancelled after 3 Virginia players were shot and killed with 2 weeks left in the season.
The Hokies finish the 2023 season with a record of 3-9, while the Hokies are now 6-6.
