College football WR goes in motion on wrong side of line

In college football, there are always a handful of moments where you think you have seen it all, and then something wild happens.

That happened Saturday in Manhattan, as the No. 15 Kansas State Wildcats were hosting Troy. With the score 14-3 late in the 2nd quarter, the Trojans had the ball 1st-and-10 at the K-State 45, when they sent a wide receiver in motion.

While that seems like a normal play, the receiver went in motion on the Wildcats’ side of the ball, leaving some confusion on the field. And in the broadcast booth.

To say people were confused me an understatement, as even the announcer was saying he had never seen that in his life.

Commenters on social media said everything from “You can do this?” to “college football is so weird.”

Plays like this are one of the many reasons why we love watching college football. You never know when you sit down to watch the game what you are going to see. You can watch college football every single week, and catch yourself saying “I have never seen that in a football game in my life.”

Reasons like this are why we turn the television on every single Saturday, and we will continue to.
