College GameDay is doubling up for Week 11. The traveling pregame show will reportedly have not 1, but 2 celebrity guest pickers for Saturday’s show at LSU ahead of the rivalry showdown with Alabama.
GameDay is calling on LSU power couple Paul Skenes and Livvy Dunne to be the celebrity guest pickers, according to a report from On3. Dunne confirmed the news in a social media post.
Skenes had a sensational 2023 season at LSU. A transfer from Air Force, Skenes tossed 122.2 innings over 19 starts, including 2 complete games.
Skenes had the second-best ERA in the NCAA at 1.69. He struck out 209 batters to lead the NCAA and break LSU great Ben McDonald’s single-season record. Opposing batters hit just .165 against Skenes in 2023, as he allowed only 72 hits and 20 walks for an NCAA-leading WHIP of 0.75.
In Omaha, Skenes made 2 CWS starts, going 1-0 with a 1.15 ERA in 15.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits with 2 walks and 21 strikeouts. He added College World Series Most Outstanding Player to his long list of honors, including National Pitcher of the Year, National Player of the Year and the Dick Howser Trophy.
Skenes returns to LSU having completed his rookie MLB season. The Pittsburgh Pirates called Skenes up to the big leagues in May. In his abbreviated season, Skenes posted an 11-3 record with an ERA of 1.96, recording 170 strikeouts. Skenes made the 2024 NL All-Star team.
Dunne began her LSU gymnastics career in 2021 and was part of the Tigers’ 2024 squad that won the national title. As a senior in 2024, Dunne appeared in 9 meets, competing on bars and floor. She posted averages of 9.857 on floor and 9.838 on bars for the year.
One of the top athletes in NIL with numerous endorsement deals and commerical appearances, Dunne has a social media following of over 10 million. She has more than 8 million TikTok followers and over 5 million on Instagram.
Dunne and Skenes are not strangers to Tiger Stadium. They memorably made the jumbotron during the thrilling finish against Ole Miss.
The couple will join host Rece Davis and analysts Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit at the desk for the picks segment.
