College GameDay is going to be different in 2020. Already, the first show has host Rece Davis anchoring from the ESPN studios in Bristol, Connecticut with Kirk Herbstreit and company contributing remotely from their homes.

Davis and company are hitting the road next Saturday. They will be broadcasting from Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the Clemson-Wake Forest game. While GameDay will be back on the road, a big part of GameDay will still be missing. Davis revealed that fans will be able to “virtually” attend GameDay on Saturday.

“I will never again take that anthem for granted, not that I ever had, we’ve always appreciated it,” Davis said to open Saturday’s first show. “And certainly none of us at College GameDay take for granted the fans and the passion for this sport. Fans will be a part of this show all season long, it will be different, it will be virtual and you can go to CollegeGameDay.com and enter for your chance to be part of the GameDay family.”

Virtual fans have been a fun part of the NBA bubble, but Saturday mornings just won’t be the same without a large crowd of fans with signs serving as College GameDay’s backdrop.
