College GameDay is still breaking records on a regular basis.
ESPN’s flagship pregame show had a historic weekend in College Station. The network announced on Wednesday that the show averaged 2.5 million viewers and had 3.2 million viewers in the final hour.
That’s up 47% from Week 1 in 2023 and represents GameDay’s most-watched pre-November show of all time.

The increased interest in College GameDay this week could be due to the arrival of Nick Saban on set. The legendary Alabama coach was a big part of GameDay’s first on-campus show of the year on Saturday.
Pat McAfee’s emergence on the show over the past couple of seasons has also added to its popularity. Saban and McAfee shared a couple of memorable moments during GameDay’s Week 1 show on Saturday.
Saban and McAfee both figure to be a large part of the show’s future, with Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Rece Davis serving as primary members of the show. Steve Coughlin, Pete Thamel, Jen Lada and Jess Sims are also contributors for the 2024 season.
College GameDay will be in Ann Arbor for Michigan’s showdown against Texas in Week 2.
