Colorado players get into pregame scuffle with Colorado State at midfield

Colorado players are taking the approach of their head coach and letting nothing slide.
Ahead of Saturday night’s in-state rivalry contest with Colorado State, Buffs plays exchanged some pregame pleasantries at midfield. Star Colorado receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter emerged from the pack and jogged down to the CU student section to fire up the crowd a bit more.

“They done messed with the wrong team,” Hunter said to an ESPN camera as he walked back across the field. “All talk, no bite.”

It looked like quarterback Shedeur Sanders was also involved in the midfield scuffle.
Sanders got into it with Nebraska near midfield before last week’s contest as well. He felt the Huskers disrespected the Buffs after Husker coaches met on the midfield logo. NU coach Matt Rhule said after the game he holds a team prayer at midfield before every game.
But Colorado has taken any opportunity to manufacture motivation for its opposition of the week. Last week, coach Deion Sanders coined the Buffs’ calling card for the season: “It’s personal.”
After CSU coach Jay Norvell took a shot at Sanders during the week, Sanders and his team have preached the same “it’s personal” message in anticipation of Saturday’s meeting.
The two teams face off on ESPN at 10 p.m. ET.
