Michael Gallup will soon be playing in the NFL. With that, he’ll have plenty of chances to play in front of large, passionate crowds. That doesn’t mean his experience playing Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium wasn’t eye-opening, however.

“A lot of kids just dream about walking into Alabama’s stadium, and then to see Nick Saban on the other sideline, it’s a different type of atmosphere out there. I thought it was one of the best things I’ve ever done,” the All-American receiver from Colorado State said during the college football awards show according to AL.com’s Michael Casagrande. “We had players just taking their helmets off and looking around the stadium at some point. It was life-changing for some kids.”

There’s not a lot of places where the crowd brings as much energy as Bryant-Denny, so Gallup’s comments aren’t surprising. That doesn’t mean the Biletnikoff Award finalist didn’t rise to the challenge, however.

Only two teams scored more on Alabama than the 23 points that Colorado State put up — Mississippi State (24) and Auburn (26).

Gallup himself hauled in five passes for 81 yards, which is extremely impressive considering Alabama’s typical success against big-time wide receivers.

Overall, Gallup finished with 1,345 receiving yards — good for fifth-best in the country — and seven touchdown catches on 94 receptions.
