Comments Section: Quarterback rankings cumulative, not week to week

Readers had a lot to say after seeing my quarterback rankings. Let’s take some time to clarify that weekly feature.
When I’m listing the QBs in the SEC from 1-14 each week, it’s a cumulative ranking based largely on this season but also includes everything they’ve done in their college careers. It’s not a review of who played best the previous Saturday.
Chad Kelly of Ole Miss, for example, has occupied the top spot following Week 1 and Week 2. Yes, he turned the ball over four times in the opener against Florida State. That being said, he’s still clearly the premier passer in the conference. With all he’s done as a Rebel, one subpar performance is quite forgivable.
Drew Lock of Missouri was sensational in a blowout of Eastern Michigan. However, he was less than impressive seven days earlier at West Virginia — not to mention shaky for most of 2015. He must pad his résumé to move up the list.
Be sure to watch the video above for a response to some of the comments I received about my quarterback rankings.
