Alabama rose to No. 2 in the both the AP and Coaches polls released Sunday afternoon.
Though the Crimson Tide has one loss, it received six first-place votes from AP voters and five from coaches. Unbeaten Clemson remained No. 1 in both polls and received 55 votes for the top spot from the media and 58 from coaches.
Florida ranked ninth among the coaches and 10th with the media. Ole Miss was No. 19 in both polls. Mississippi State was No. 22 in the Coaches’ poll and No. 23 in the AP rankings.
LSU, in the top four entering the month, fell out of the Coaches top 25 with its third straight loss. The Tigers are No. 26 in the Coaches rankings. Other SEC teams receiving votes from the coaches were Texas A&M at No. 29, Georgia at No. 31 and Arkansas and No. 34.
