Conference USA is reportedly gaining a new member.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Monday that Delaware is set to join Conference USA in the 2025-26 season. The sides have been in talks and a decision is expected to be formalized over the coming days. Delaware currently plays at the FCS level.

Conference USA currently has 9 members and is set to have Kennesaw State become its 10th in 2024. New Mexico State and Liberty are set to face off in the 2023 Conference USA championship game.

Delaware is currently 9-3 and just beat Lafayette in the first round of the FCS playoffs. The Blue Hens will take on Montana this weekend in the second round of the playoffs.

In its sole FBS game this season, Delaware faced off against Penn State and the Nittany Lions cruised to a 63-7 win.

Despite being at the FCS level, Delaware has had a handful of players go to the NFL Draft, with the most notable being Joe Flacco.
