A cornerback/receiver that was part of South Carolina’s Class of 2016 for some time has de-committed.
Tre Jackson from Baton Rouge, La., announced his decision to back out of his pledge with the Gamecocks via Twitter on Monday.
Would like to humbly announce I will not be attending South Carolina. To me and my families privacy no interviews until after my decision

The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder had been committed to South Carolina since July 18. He’s rated as a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings and has received offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina and TCU.
The Gamecocks aren’t exactly hurting at the receiver or cornerback positions with Jackson’s de-commitment as the school’s recruiting class for 2016 currently includes three prospects at each position. That includes four-star receiver Bryan Edwards and four-star corner Jamarcus King.
