Baylor’s loss looks to be Auburn’s gain as talented dual-threat quarterback recruit Kellen Mond may be closing in on choosing the Tigers as his new college of choice.
Formerly a Baylor commit, Mond decommitted from the school in the wake of Art Briles’ dismissal. After backing off his Baylor commit in early June, Mond said Auburn was his leader:

Since that time, Ohio State gained a commit from dual-threat quarterback prospect Tate Martell, so they may be out of the running for Mond. However Texas A&M is still very much in the mix, as Mond visited College Station last weekend for the Aggies barbecue recruiting event.
Now Mond is set to return for another visit to the Plains, as the quarterback tweeted out a since-deleted message Tuesday night saying: “Auburn Visit On Friday!” According to Wesley Sinor of AL.com, Mond be on Auburn’s campus Friday and Saturday.
Given his own admission that the Tigers were his top choice only a few weeks ago and he is planning on visiting Auburn for the second time since decommitting from Baylor, Mond clearly has high interest in the school. Don’t be surprised if Auburn adds an incredibly value piece to its 2017 recruiting class this weekend.
