Mark Richt has landed a big fish down in Miami.

The former Georgia head coach has hired Craig Kuligowski, the long-time Missouri defensive line coach that many credit for the team’s NFL pipeline.

According to FootballScoop.com, Kuligowski is headed to the Hurricanes.

A long-time assistant under coach Gary Pinkel, Kuligowski helped develop players like Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson, Michael Sam, Shane Ray and Markus Golden.

Passed over for the vacant defensive coordinator position prior to the 2015 season, Kuligowski flirted with a move to Illinois to accept the co-defensive coordinator job. Instead, he remained in Columbia, Mo., for one more season. The man who got the Mizzou coordinator job, Barry Odom, now is head coach.

Missouri has hired Chris Wilson, the former defensive line coach at USC, to replace Kuligowski.

As far as assistant coaches go, this is a big loss for the SEC, but a big gain for Richt and Miami.
