Criticizing the broadcasters: Fans grill Musburger, others for Week 12 effort
Brent Musburger and Jesse Palmer called the biggest SEC matchup in Week 12: Florida at LSU. And as the Tigers were driving for a potential go-ahead touchdown, the SEC Network play-by-play man was trying explain the rationale behind how LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron was using the clock.
When the Tigers failed to score on an ill-fated handoff to Derrius Guice, the Gators were SEC East champs. LSU fans were upset with two things — the result and with what Musburger had to say leading up to it:
Brent Musburger is dumb af not realizing LSU isn't wasting time, they want to score with no time left hence the UF timeout lol #idiot #oldaf

Can no one get in Brent Musburger's ear and explain clock management to him? He still doesn't understand what's going on. It's embarrassing.

Verne makes some fans cry Uncle
Meanwhile, some tweeters didn’t stop with taking shots at Musburger. They decided to link him with Verne Lundquist, who worked the Missouri-Tennessee game with longtime CBS broadcast partner Gary Danielson:
Brent Musburger is @SECNetwork version of #VerneLundquist. @espn @ESPNCFB

Could you imagine #vernelundquist and #Brentmusburger calling a game together? My ears would literally bleed!#retirealready #stfu

Sorry. I won't miss Verne Lundquist. He can take Gary Danielson with him.

Hey @VerneLundquist there is a @SEC game going on. We don't need to hear about your party.

Viewers don’t particularly care for Ware
Andre Ware shared the call of last Saturday night’s Ole Miss-Vanderbilt game with Tom Hart on SEC Network. We’re not sure what was worse: the Rebels’ performance in their 38-17 loss or how their fans felt about Ware’s analysis:
Andre Ware needs glasses! His hand was under the ball. That's a catch.

I really think Andre Ware is a complete idiot!

Andre Ware's not thinking that a QB should throw a slant with some velocity is a perplexing take.
