Dak Prescott explains why he thinks he fell to the fourth round of last year’s NFL Draft

Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott had to wait until the third day of the 2016 NFL Draft before the Dallas Cowboys selected him in the fourth round.

Of course, we all know the story of how he replaced an injured Tony Romo and went on to lead the Cowboys to a 13-3 regular-season record and won the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

On Rich Eisen’s show on Thursday, Prescott explained that he thinks so many people passed on him because there’s no reliable way to measure heart and leadership at the NFL Scouting Combine:

Everywhere he’s been, Prescott has seemingly been a popular locker-room presence, which definitely has value, even at the NFL level.

Of course, winning is the best way to keep everyone happy, so it’ll be interesting to see if Prescott and the Cowboys can build on last year’s success and make a deeper playoff run at the end of the 2017 season.

If he can lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl in the near future, 31 other teams will once again regret that they passed on the ex-Bulldog.
