Dameon Pierce’s status on Houston Texans’ depth chart revealed ahead of Week 1
The Houston Texans’ unofficial depth chart lists rookie and former University of Florida standout Dameon Pierce as the starting running back, according to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network.

The 5-foot-10, 215-pound Pierce was a 4th-round draft pick of the Texans. He rushed for 86 yards on 11 carries and 1 touchdown in 2 preseason games while apparently rising to the top of Houston’s depth chart in time to start Sunday’s season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
Pierce made an immediate impact at Florida, rushing for 424 yards and 2 touchdowns as a freshman. He then rushed for 305 yards and 4 TDs as a sophomore. Pierce also played on special teams during his first two seasons as a Gator.
He showed his versatility as a junior in Gainesville, rushing for 503 yards and 4 touchdowns and catching 17 passes for 156 yards and 1 score. Pierce finished with a bang at Florida as a senior, rushing for 574 yards on 100 carries and piling up 13 touchdowns while catching 19 passes for 216 yards and 3 scores.
