Dan Mullen knows a thing or 2 about Alabama’s perennial star power after spending time as the head coach at Florida.

On Saturday night, the ESPN college football analyst gave some love to one of his former rivals, awarding a helmet sticker to Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe after the junior quarterback’s spectacular performance in a 42-10 road victory over Wisconsin.

“Jalen Milroe, 3 passing and 2 rushing touchdowns,” Mullen said. “Third straight game with at least 2 of each.”

Milroe was everywhere the Badgers defense wasn’t during the easy win at Camp Randall Stadium. In the Crimson Tide’s 1st road game against a Big Ten team since 2011, Milroe was efficient (12-of-17 passing for 196 yards), he was opportunistic (3 touchdown passes) and he was accurate (0 interceptions).

And that wasn’t all.

He did plenty of damage with his legs, too. Milroe rushed for a team-high 75 yards on 14 carries and added 2 touchdown runs.

Milroe is off to a ridiculous start to the 2024 season. He has the 4th-ranked Crimson Tide at 3-0 going into their showdown with Georgia in 2 weeks, and he’s lighting up the scoreboard while doing it. As Mullen pointed out in awarding Milroe the helmet sticker, Saturday was the 3rd time in as many games that Milroe has posted at least 2 touchdown passes and 2 touchdown runs.

In all, Milroe has 8 TD passes and 6 TD runs combined in victories over Western Kentucky, South Florida and Wisconsin.

Analysts like Mullen are taking note of Milroe’s excellence.
