Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen soon will turn in his coaching whistle for a runner’s bib.
The Bulldogs coach is set to run the Boston Marathon for the first time as a fundraiser for the Mullen Family Foundation.
Mullen has been training for this event for a year. The foundation website says the Boston Marathon is both a lifelong dream of Mullen’s and will also be his first race.
He joked with the media on Saturday that both Mississippi State fans and Ole Miss fans alike have reason to donate and cheer him on:
Mullen said, MSU fans can donate and track him. Said Ole Miss fans can do the same and cheer the pain on his face at miles 21-26.
