Dan Mullen gives update on Nick Fitzgerald’s Egg Bowl injury

Nick Fitzgerald went down early in the first quarter of Thursday night’s Egg Bowl.
Ole Miss defeated No. 14 Mississippi State 31-28 in the Thanksgiving rivalry contest, as the Bulldogs’ passing game struggled for the remainder of the game.
The injury Fitzgerald sustained was bad enough that the Mississippi State star quarterback had to be carted off the field.
It looked like some sort of ankle/lower leg injury when it happened, but it was hard to say for sure.
That is, until after the game when Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen confirmed in his press conference that Fitzgerald had a dislocated ankle.
Mullen noted that’s all he knew about the injury at this time.
Nick Fitzgerald has a dislocated ankle, Mullen says, but “I don’t have anything beside that.”
