Six games into the season, Florida DL Jachai Polite is turning heads.
The CFB Film Room Twitter account shared Monday that Polite has racked up an impressive 22 quarterback pressures already on the season. ESPN analyst Greg McElroy noted how LSU changed its formation to try to slow down Polite. Florida coach Dan Mullen is also noticing Polite.
Polite had a big game against LSU and his play came up at Mullen’s Monday press conference with local media.
Mullen says he doesn’t know if he’s had an edge rusher than can bend and has the burst like Jachai Polite does. Mentions Carlos Dunlap and Preston Smith. “But not the pure quickness and the burst (that Polite has). Then brings up a freshman Dwight Freeney when he was at Syracuse.

Gators fans can enjoy cheering for Polite in what will likely be his final season at Florida. Polite’s Twitter handle is @RetireMoms. With the way he’s playing, it’s fair to assume a substantial NFL contract is heading Polite’s way in the spring, with plenty of money for his mom to be able to retire.
Here was LSU’s adjustment to Polite. They put the RB on his side every time to help out the OT. Refused to let him get in 1 on 1 again. Made too many plays in the game. pic.twitter.com/bu33egFHzt
