Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen talked about his team and took questions from callers during the Dawg Talk Call-In Show on Thursday night.
Mullen and the Bulldogs (5-2) host Kentucky (4-2) this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. The game will be shown on the SEC Network.
This week, Mullen has spoken highly of Kentucky quarterback Patrick Towles. Last year, Towles threw for 390 yards and two touchdowns against the Bulldogs. He also ran for 76 yards and two more touchdowns in his team’s 45-31 loss to the top-ranked Bulldogs. He said that Towles has a lot of physical talent, and that the team rallies behind his leadership.
Mullen has said he expects wide receivers Joe Morrow and Gabe Myles and tight end Gus Walley to play against Kentucky. Morrow and Myles have missed the last two games with injuries. Walley left last week’s game, a win over Louisiana Tech, after a couple of hard hits.
Mullen did not discuss the status of senior cornerback Will Redmond, who has reportedly suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
Mullen on call in show: “We don’t talk about injuries. If you want to find out, buy a ticket and show up Saturday!”
