Dan Mullen shredded for postgame comment after Florida’s loss to Kentucky
It was a tough night for Florida coach Dan Mullen, as the No. 10 Gators dropped a 20-13 decision at Kentucky on Saturday.
It was the Wildcats’ first win at home over the Gator since 1986 and just their second victory in the series in the last 35 meetings.
During his postgame press conference, Mullen was asked if he thought he was outcoached by Kentucky’s Mark Stoops in the game, and he didn’t take kindly to the question.
“No. 382 yards. I guess that’s sputtering,” said Mullen in what was a brief meeting with the media. “We had 382 and they had 211.”
Reactions to Mullen’s take, however, made it clear that most disagreed with his assessment.
Here’s a look at some of the reactions on Twitter:
How about this one—“we had 13 and they had 20”

Did anyone ask him how it feels to be only Florida coach in last 4 decades to lose to Kentucky?

He takes credit for that? Not that Florida has better players?
But the 15 penalties, lack of readiness to play a road game, and lack of focus on special teams has nothing to do with him? He’s only responsible for the yards huh?

We won the yards game everyone! On to the SEC championship!

These answers are so weak man…he refuses to take any sort of blame

Lack of humility is killing this coach and the program

Should have won this game easily. So saying that sort of makes him look even worse.
