Despite a strong preseason performance, the New England Patriots decided to cut former LSU QB Danny Etling this weekend.
However, Etling wasn’t unemployed for long. In fact, he ended up right where he started, signing with the Patriots’ practice squad on Sunday.
NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported the news on Twitter on Sunday afternoon:

Etling had one of the best highlights of the entire preseason, running 86 yards for a touchdown against the New York Giants on Thursday night:

He had a good preseason, so it’s nice to see him land a job out of camp, even if it is just a practice squad gig.
The Patriots will roll with Tom Brady and Brian Hoyer as their two quarterbacks this season, with Etling waiting in the wings and learning from one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
