Danny Kanell of CBS Sports provided an update to his weekly Top 12 college football rankings following Week 8’s action, and he did not place an SEC team within the top four of his list.
Kanell moved Oregon into his top spot with the Ducks coming off a dominant win 35-0 win over Purdue on Friday night. They replaced former No. 1 Texas, who was stifled by Georgia’s suffocating defense in a 30-15 loss in Austin.
But, the impressive win by the Bulldogs didn’t appear to appease Kanell all that much, as he only moved UGA up to the No. 5 spot in his rankings. Penn State (idle) slid up to No. 2, while Miami and Indiana followed in that order after each team recorded some eye-popping stats in wins over Louisville and Nebraska respectively.
Another phenomenal weekend of college football. Let's look at who has been the most impressive!

The only other SEC team to appear in Kanell’s rankings was Texas, who fell to No. 11. Kanell appears to truly value an undefeated record, as Iowa State, BYU and Pittsburgh are ranked 8-10 thanks to their flawless marks.
Ohio State (6), Clemson (7) and SMU (12) round out the rankings as one-loss squads, all having lost to teams ranked ahead of them.
