Darren McFadden recently took to social media to share an experience that had to have been awkward… to say the least. The former Arkansas running back was mistaken for former Alabama Mark Ingram, who just happens to look nothing like him.
It’s clear this particular fan either is not too bright when it comes to recognizing faces, or they were just pulling some type of a joke.
“Out with family and was asked for a pic with his favorite RB,” McFadden said. “He proceeded to yell “Role Tide, I loved you on the Saints. When do I say I’m not Mark Ingram…..”

Neither of the two players crossed paths in college, so that makes the matter even more interesting. They also had two very different career paths, though, as McFadden did not experience the same level of success at the NFL level as he did when he was with the Razorbacks.
He ended out his career with Arkansas with a total of 4,955 yards from scrimmage and 43 touchdowns. From a rushing perspective, his 4,590 yards and 41 scores in the ground game are good for program records in both categories.
Ingram is now an on-air personality for FOX Sports after playing in the NFL for 12 seasons.
