David Pollack claims Julian Sayin is ‘on another level’ compared to Arch Manning

Arch Manning and Julian Saying both have their fair share of supporters. If you asked most analysts, you’d likely hear the Texas Longhorns‘ and Ohio State Buckeyes’ signal-callers are of similar caliber. To David Pollack, though, there’s a significant difference.
Pollack, who went live on his See Ball, Get Ball podcast following Texas’ comeback victory over Ohio State, claimed Sayin is “a much better quarterback” than Manning.
“[We broke] it down last week, and we showed you [Arch’s] tendency to just… hitch a little bit,” Pollack said. “Listen, Julian Sayin’s on another level than him. Julian Sayin’s a much better QB.”
Pollack admitted Sayin “got out of rhythm” late in Saturday’s game, but partially attributed that to Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, who Pollack believes played “a little bit conservative” than he should have down the stretch.
Sayin’s final line — 17/32 (53.1%), 278 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT — was not that different from Manning’s — 23/37 (62.2%), 195 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. However, you can’t dispute that Manning lost at least 50 yards and a touchdown on a pair of big drops from Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo. Manning’s interception also came on Coleman’s drop. Stats aren’t everything, but his box score was a few bad breaks away from looking much better than it finished.
Ohio State and Texas both host Group of 6 teams (Kent State and UTSA, respectively) in Week 3.
