South Carolina hasn’t had a double-digit victory season since 2013. However, David Pollack believes the Gamecocks will soar in the College Football Playoff in 2026.
Pollack made the prediction on his podcast See Ball Get Ball when asked if he believes South Carolina as a CFP caliber team is overrated, underrated or appropriately rated.
“Absolutely, appropriately hyped,” Pollack said. “You’ve got a QB that can do elite things. He presents a lot of flipping problems for every defense they play.”
Beyond LaNorris Sellers, Pollack added more explanation for his reasoning by citing other playmakers.
“Oh by the way, one of those other game changers is [Nyck] Harbor. Very few in all of college football can be that fast at that size,” Pollack said. “Dylan Stewart, the way he rushes the passer, can absolutely change games. [Vicari] Swain at corner’s an animal and can change special teams.”

Pollack only mentioned 1 potential drawback but otherwise believes the roster is capable of delivering a special season to South Carolina fans.
“I just need those offensive lineman to get a little bit better. Guess what? They’re going to be staring at that 8-4, 9-3 mark, right around that area,” Pollack said. “If you ain’t thinking that way, I think you’re wrong.”
According to the latest odds on Kalshi, South Carolina has a 15% chance to reach the CFP in 2026.
