David Stone has narrowed his consideration on a destination to play college football.
It’s not a guarantee that the 5-star recruit is going to choose an SEC school when it comes time for the prized 2024 defensive lineman to make his decision.
But the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, product has his list of schools down to 10 and 5 of them reside in the SEC, he announced on Friday.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder who’s starring at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, is currently the top-ranked defensive lineman in the Class of 2024.
Included on Stone’s extremely coveted list of suitors are Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, LSU and Texas A&M, so right now, if this list holds true, there’s a 50% chance that Stone will end up at an SEC school in the fall of 2024.
The other 5 programs on Stone’s list are Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Miami and USC.
According to the recruiting prediction machine provided by On3 Sports, there’s a 96.7% chance that Stone will choose to play in his original home state and attend Oklahoma.
The Crystal Ball predictions at 247Sports also have Stone becoming a Sooner when he makes his decision.
Stone grew up in Oklahoma rooting for the Sooners, so it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see him land in Norman.
“My dad used to make me watch the games growing up,” Stone told AllSooners recently. “At first, I wasn’t really a fan of the sport but after I started to play little league myself, I understood a lot more of what was happening (and) they started to grow on me.”
We’ll eventually find out if any SEC schools can swoop in and steal him from Oklahoma’s grasp.
