Stone is a Del City, Oklahoma native who finished his high school career at the IMG Academy in Florida. Stone’s homecoming was a big deal for the Sooners. On the 247Sports Composite, Stone was a 5-star recruit, rated the No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 9 overall prospect in the Class of 2024.
Though Stone was a hyped recruit, he did not make a significant impact in his debut season. Stone’s OU bio notes that he appeared in all 13 games. Per Pro Football Focus, his snap count was just 94 for the season. In limited playing time on special teams and defense, Stone recorded 6 tackles, including 2 for loss with 1 sack.
Even if Stone didn’t do much as a freshman, the Sooners see a bright future for the former 5-star and are happy to have him back for 2025 and beyond.
