Tennessee fans, you might want to sit down for this.

The Oakland Raiders are reportedly preparing to pursue Jon Gruden with an offer so strong it could even include an ownership stake in the team, according to ESPN.

The Worldwide Leader cited league sources on Saturday night that said the Monday Night Football broadcaster and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach will be tempted to accept the offer.

Gruden “would prefer not to make any decisions until the regular season finishes Sunday,” though. The Raiders still haven’t made a decision on current head coach Jack Del Rio, however most every indication is that he will be let go.

The Raiders are in the midst of a disappointing 6-9 season. They have lost three consecutive games.

Raiders owner Mark Davis reportedly has offered Gruden an ownership stake in the past. If he offers ownership again, all 32 NFL owners will have to approve the proposed contract between Gruden and the Raiders.

Guess it’s time for Tennessee fans to accept the fact that he’s not coming to Knoxville.
