Deion Sanders calls out Colorado State QB for trash talk: ‘How stupid is that?’
Deion Sanders liked the final score late Saturday night in Fort Collins, as his Colorado Buffaloes bounced back from a Week 2 loss at Nebraska with a big-time 28-9 victory over rival Colorado State.
What the bombastic Colorado head coach didn’t like, however, was the way Rams quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi behaved toward one of his players. Specifically, Coach Prime didn’t like that Fowler-Nicolosi did the “too small” celebration at the expense of Colorado 2-way star Travis Hunter.

“How stupid is that. This is Travis Hunter,” Sanders said after the game.
The “Rocky Mountain Showdown” had a lot of trash talking before and during the game, similar to last season, but for a change it was Sanders complaining about the other team’s showmanship instead of defending his own team’s.
With Colorado State down 14-3 in the 2nd quarter on Saturday night, the Rams sophomore quarterback did the “too small” gesture at the expense of Hunter, who plays defensive back in addition to his duties as a wide receiver. For the record, Hunter is 6-1, so he’s not exactly tiny.
“Like who does that? I wouldn’t allow my kids to do that and y’all know that. And that ought to be said,” said Sanders.
While Coach Prime mostly talked about how foolish it was for Fowler-Nicolosi to do what he did during and before the game, he was also taking a subtle jab at Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell and what he allows his players to do.
