Deion Sanders reportedly forbids band from playing fight song after Shedeur Sanders touchdowns

Deion Sanders is not exactly the most universally loved college football coach in the country. Many accuse him of being more of a brand manager than a developmental football coach, and the latest news doesn’t exactly help sway those opinions.
According to Jake Shapiro, a Denver sports analyst for 104.3 The Fan, Coach Prime has asked the Colorado marching band to stop playing their fight song after touchdowns by QB Shedeur Sanders. Instead, Sanders wants the loudspeaker to play a recording of his son’s rap song.
Check out the following passage from Shapiro from after Colorado’s loss to Nebraska this past weekend:
The fight song doesn’t even play in the stadium after the quarterback throws a touchdown. Deion Sanders told the band they couldn’t play if his son Shedeur Sanders scores a touchdown so that the loudspeaker can play a recording of his son’s song “Perfect Timing.”
Whew.
Colorado has not had a good start to the season. The Buffs very nearly fell to FCS North Dakota State at the beginning of the year and were practically run off the field by Nebraska on Saturday. Shedeur, to his credit, has had a solid start to the season, passing for 689 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Players like Sanders and Travis Hunter make Colorado an exciting team to watch at times, but the Buffs are far from a complete team and struggle heavily on the defensive side of the ball.
