Deion Sanders is certainly confident.
One of the main storylines of the young 2023 college football season has been the meteoric rise of Colorado under the guidance of its new head coach. The Buffaloes have gotten out to a 3-0 start on the season, already tripling their win total from 2022 and rising to No. 19 in the AP Poll.
Still, critics remain. Many believe that Colorado will be humbled in an upcoming stretch that features Oregon (road) and USC (home), in large part because star WR/DB Travis Hunter is expected to miss both games while recovering from injury.
In an interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks, Sanders had a response for those critics:
“I’m a monument. Not a moment.”

Sanders went on to say that “moments that have consistency change into monuments.” He was very happy with that line, one that he appeared to come up with off the top of his head, and he even sold it with a dramatic head turn at the end.
It remains abundantly clear that Sanders will not let any naysayers diminish his team’s performances or morale, and he seems to be having more fun with the critics every single week.
The Buffaloes will take on No. 10 Oregon in Autzen Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC this Saturday.
