The Denver Broncos made multiple roster moves involving SEC alumni ahead of Saturday’s season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Three moves involve former Alabama standouts. Kareem Jackson was placed on injured reserve with a back injury after missing back-to-back practices. Jackson finishes the year with 88 tackles, 2 pass deflections, a sack and an interception in 15 games. Rookie standout Pat Surtain II was also placed on IR after being ruled out earlier in the week. Surtain has 58 tackles, 14 pass deflections and 4 interceptions in his first professional season.
“He’s got, unusually, two calf injuries,” Denver head coach Vic Fangio said of Surtain, per the team website. “Obviously one in each leg. One is worse than the other. … At any point in the season, he probably would miss two, three games.”
The Broncos elevated Ha Ha Clinton-Dix from the practice squad to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement. A former Pro Bowler who has played in 98 NFL games, Clinton-Dix has yet to play in a Broncos game.
Denver also signed former Florida WR Tyrie Cleveland to the active roster off of the practice squad.
