Derek Mason on Tennessee game: “It’s time for us to put down the little boy toys”
In Derek Mason’s third season as head coach, Vanderbilt has played several close games against some good teams. The Commodores already own wins over Georgia and Ole Miss, and they are looking to add Tennessee to that list.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Mason told reporters just what Vanderbilt needed to do on Saturday night.
Derek Mason on the UT game: "It’s time for us to go eat, it’s time for us to grow up, it’s time for us to put down the little boy toys …"

If the Commodores have been playing with “little boy toys” this season, the rest of the SEC likely doesn’t want to see what happens when they do put them down. That wasn’t the only gem from Mason’s press conference, however. He also had some praise for running back Ralph Webb.
Mason on Ralph Webb: "I've seen a lion in the zoo. I've seen a tiger in the zoo. I've never seen a wolf in the zoo. He's a wolf."
