Here’s what Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason said after Saturday’s 21-17 victory over Kentucky. It was Vandy’s second SEC win of the year.

“We had an opportunity to put some pressure on them and our kids fought hard. Wasn’t perfect, football’s not a perfect game. What you try to do is minimize mistakes. We were resilient.”

“I thought we could rush the passer and it ends on a sack. That’s fitting. That’s fitting for our football game.”

“Everyone’s using these empty formations to get us out of sorts.”

“Shurm had a clean pocket most of the night. I thought he made some on-target throws. He showed some poise and never got rattled. I thought he did a great job of leading our football team.”
