For tonight’s minor league baseball game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Jacksonville Suns – a team that plays its home games 30 minutes away from where Derrick Henry played high school football – will be giving away the former Alabama running back’s bobblehead to the first 1,000 fans.
Because of the closeness in proximity to Henry’s high school stardom, the bobblehead will feature Henry decked out in his green-and-gold Yulee High School Hornets uniform.

Henry, who won the 2015 Heisman Trophy with the Crimson Tide, didn’t come out of nowhere.
In high school, Henry ran for 12,124 yards and 153 touchdowns on just 1,397 carries. His career of over 12,000 yards broke the national high school career rushing record and did so on a 8.6 yards-per-carry average.
Now a member of the Tennessee Titans, Henry has a chance to emulate his game after his favorite player at the highest level of competition.
According to Mark Inabinett of al.com, Henry was asked about who his favorite player was growing up at an appearance at Nissan’s North American headquarters on June 24.
“LaDainian Tomlinson,” said Henry, at his appearance. “I loved LaDainian. I had his bobblehead when I was a little boy. I love LT.”
