Derrick Henry’s recent performance is eliciting some historic comparisons.
The running back for the Tennessee Titans, who also starred at Alabama, was compared to a “modern day Jim Brown,” according to former NFL standout Phil Simms during Sunday’s pregame show.
Henry has been on a tear through 6 games this season. He has rushed for 783 yards and 10 touchdowns on 162 carries. That averages out to be 4.8 yards per carry for the powerful tailback.
Here is what Simms had to say:

“He’s a modern day Jim Brown,” Simms said. “That’s who he reminds me of. When I was a kid, I loved Jim Brown. When I watch him play, that’s who I see. Teams come up and crowd the line of scrimmage against him. That’s tough to do, because Ryan Tannehill might be the best play-action passer in the NFL.”
The Titans host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
