Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee took center stage at College GameDay ahead of the SEC Championship Game matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Texas Longhorns, but there was someone missing from the ESPN family today.

Randy Moss, a Marshall legend, announced a leave of absence from his duties at ESPN as an NFL analyst due to health issues. Howard, McAfee and several others took the time to extend their well wishes to Moss while picking the Thundering Herd to win the Sun Belt title game:

Moss is currently taking an extended leave from his role as an analyst for ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” for these unspecified health issues. He took to Instagram in a heartfelt post asking for prayers earlier in the week.

“I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times. People were talking about my eyes last week,” Moss said. “I’m battling something, man, and it’s something internal. Your boy is going to get through it. I got a great team of doctors and got a great family around me.”

ESPN also released a statement on Friday.

“For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating ‘Countdown’ with his insight and passion,” the network said. “He has ESPN’s full support, and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready.”
