Details emerge of how LSU’s hiring of Ed Orgeron went down

On Saturday morning, it was reported that interim coach Ed Orgeron landed the full-time job at LSU.

Coach O beat out Houston’s Tom Herman, who will likely land the job at Texas if and when Charlie Strong is fired.

After reportedly offering Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher $6.8 million per year to come to Baton Rouge, Orgeron will be a bargain.

With a salary around $3 million, the Tigers will have money to spend on top assistants:

If the Tigers want to lure Lane Kiffin away from Alabama, they’ll likely have to wait. The Crimson Tide have as many as four games remaining on their 2016 schedule.
