Former Texas A&M Aggie De’Von Achane has gotten out to a strong start in his second season with the Miami Dolphins, but he was forced to leave the team’s game against the New England Patriots on Sunday due to a possible concussion.

Achane was fighting for extra yardage while a Patriot was holding on to his legs when another defender ran in and hit him in the helmet. The running back then fell to the ground and appeared to also smack his head on the turf, looking stunned afterwards.

The Dolphins evaluated Achane in the concussion protocol and later ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

Achane has been a versatile weapon for a Miami offense that has desperately needed it this season. He’s recorded 165 rushing yards on 53 carries while also having 187 receiving yards on 20 catches, and he’s scored both on the ground and through the air.
